Washington Redskins Unveil New Nike Anniversary Uniform

New technology, 1937 style.

Celebrating 80 years in the DC-area, the Washington Redskins will hit the field in a specially designed alternate uniform for select 2012 games. In 1937, the Skins moved south from Boston, won their first National Championship, and solidified the legend of quarterback "Slingin'" Sammy Baugh (whose #33 is the only number the team has officially retired). Working closely with Nike, the Redskins created a new look with an eye to the club's unique heritage, giving distinct look to Nike's fresh Elite 51 uniform system.

Key technologies included Flywire at the neckline to reduce weight, and integrated four-way stretch fabrication.
