3. Gay Talese
Gay Talese is one of the writers that helped define literary journalism. In his articles for Esquire and The New York Times, he often used writing techniques previously seen only in fiction to bring readers more deeply into the story. Clearly, he's a man who pays painstaking attention to detail. The same can be said for his personal style. Often seen in impeccable suits, everything fits him perfectly. Talese often touted himself as dressing for the story, and ironically enough, how he chose to do so became a story in itself.
