His legacy, and the club's stylish play, are the core inspirations of the new 2012/2013 Arsenal home kit, which Nike unveiled today.
With traditional red block body and white sleeves, the new shirt has a fresh twist in the form of an obsidian hoop to the sleeves, collar, and sock. The color is a traditional third note on Arsenal shirts and features on the crest. Inclusion on the new kit brings out contemporary styling through heritage notes.
Other design cues include an outer neck graphic that references Champman's famous "WM formation." As with all new Nike uniforms, sustainability and environmentally friendly materials are central to the manufacture. The process of construction reduces energy consumption by up to 30% in comparison to traditional polyester.
