Qzina Speciality Foods, based in Irvine, CA, can now boast a Guinness World Record among 30 years of achievements. Celebrating a mile stone anniversary, the company enlisted Francois Mellet, Qzina's Corporate Pastry Chef, to build a massive chocolate sculpture. Modeled after an ancient Mayan temple it weighs a staggering 18,239 pounds.
The temple is set for display at the Qzina Institute of Chocolate & Pastry through December 21, 2012 (the official end of the Mayan Calendar). Will it be eaten? Probably not.
