At long last, Nike took the cover off its next generation of football uniforms, the Nike Elite 51. The main goal of the newly developed jerseys, pants, compression pieces, and shoes is to have the baselayer work in tandem with the rest of the uniform. The new kits use a multitude of new technology, mainly providing lightweight, better-fitting strength. These features include light padding on "hit zones", flywire on the neckline, and four-way stretch fabric for a "shrink-wrap" feel without compromising range of motion.

The Seattle Seahawks saw some of the most drastic changes to their gear. The 'Hawks completely re-designed their uniform, channeling some of their Northwestern roots and Native American heritage. Pointed wings stripe the legs, and a new pattern on the helmet was added to honor Seattle's passionate fans.
