French brand Maison Kitsuné has been around since 2002. While they've been available in the Big Apple at retailers like Opening Ceremony and Barneys, today they make their first foray into operating their own shop. Located at the NoMad Hotel, the cozy space is utilized well, careful merchandising really maximizes the space to make it feel more like a proper boutique than a pop-up shop. According to co-owner Masaya Kuroki, this is to make it feel like a "bourgeois Parisian apartment."

Kitsuné focuses on utilizing premium materials for their clothing, which means that price points for sweaters range anywhere from $520-$675, and selvedge, washed Japanese denim goes for around $499. There are also plenty of shoes, T-shirts, and other accesories for sale. Many of their mens tops are branded with Kitsuné's logo: a fox colored with the three stripes of the French flag. In addition to operating two Parisian retail outposts and a clothing brand, Maison Kitsuné also oversees a music label. Given that other owner, Gildas Loaëc, used to manage Daft Punk, the music angle isn't too far-fetched. [WWD]
