Weapons from the U.S., once used illegally, have been transformed into socially conscious works of art in Mexico. Shown collectively as A Farewell to Arms. Contraband on the Border, the exhibition closes at The Memory and Tolerance Museum in Mexico City on April 15, and will head to Washington, D.C. later in the year. The mix of dangerous and innocent imagery reminds of the frightening ubiquity of firearms and the difficult relationship between bordering nations. [Culture Monster]
