Group Show Brings Emerging Talents From America And Canada To London

"Discovery" opens on April 13, 2012 at Rook & Raven.

Showing for the first time in the UK, Adam Caldwell, Nathan DeYoung, Elizabeth Winnel, and Andrew Young all flirt with notions of lost innocence. Their work comes together this month in Discovery, a group exhibition at London's Rook & Raven. Dedicated to discovering new art stars, the gallery will proudly expose the quartet of rising stars to the European market.

Caldwell paints urban landscapes with a surreal twist, which contrast neatly with DeYoung's sensual portraits. Photo-realistic mouths fill Winnel's canvases, her obsessions offering stark juxtaposition with Andrew Young's busy, narrative works. In total, the four prove the breadth of contemporary painting with firm, connective subtext.
