Drawing inspiration from Renaissance painting, Legend of the Pink Cherry finds BUFF MONSTER forming an epic tale of good vs. evil. More figurative than his previous work, this new body of paintings pulls from Hollywood narratives and combines them with his signature ice cream cone creations. To augment the main gallery material, Corey Helford's upstairs will debut MONSTER's The Melty Misfits, a series of 60 collectable trading cards honoring the Garbage Pail Kids.
Both narrative paintings and cards are indicative of the artist's career trajectory, and while most of this material is new the entire show can be viewed as a celebration of his 11 years as a professional artist.
Legend of the Pink Cherry opens on April 14 and will run through May 5, 2012.
