Netherland-based designers Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters showed a collection of 13 stuffed bird pieces at Milan Design Week. Titled Avifauna, which means "the birds of a particular region, habitat, or geological period," the collection is meant to elicit shock and sensitivity from the viewer. In their words, "Avifauna gave us the opportunity to materialize nature as we see it...we molded on the conserved parts of the species to materialize their characteristics in textiles." [Yatzer]
