Everything else aside, Terry Richardson is proof that negative press (just google “terry richardson scandal” or something along those lines) only contributes to the legend of an artist and the success of his or her career. This was most recently perceived at the opening of TERRYWORLD at OHWOW Gallery, Los Angeles this February, which drew swarms of fans and fellow celebrities, including James Franco, Tom Ford and Jared Leto. Personally, the hype around Richardson, whether good or bad, doesn't interest me as much as perhaps it should: I simply think he is a talented, highly relevant photographer and enjoy following what he does.
