Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid will extend reach beyond the pitch once again after revealing plans to open a $1bn resort in the United Arab Emirates. The project includes villas, a 5-star hotel, an amusement park, a club, and the world's first sea side soccer stadium. Real Madrid Island is slated for a January 2015 opening. [Arch Daily]
