Born in German, Helmut Newton bounced around the globe before spending his most pivotal years in Paris. The City Of Lights gave the famed fashion photographer his voice, especially through work with Paris Vogue. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles, but his photographs have returned to France for the first comprehensive Newton exhibition ever held in Paris. His humor, experimentation, and (of course) nudes are explored in full context. Where else can you see an impressively jeweled hand tackle a cooked chicken and a stunning portrait of Dali in one space? Yup, nowhere.

The exhibiton runs through July 17, 2012 at Grand Palais. [Artinfo]
