Hamburg-based designer, Oliver Schau's “Street Furniture” is a DIY answer to the commercialization of public spaces around his city. To combat the lack of public seating, Schau created impromptu benches and chairs by wrapping yellow drainage pipes around existing infrastructure, like bridges, bike racks and street signs. The pipes are affordable, reusable and easy to put up or take down - making them an easy and cheap solution to a larger problem. [Spiegel]
