Over the weekend it was announced that designer Simon Spurr left his namesake label on Friday. Founded in 2006, it focused on items like jeans at first before becoming a full lifestyle line with an array of suiting and other proper menswear items. Last week, the designer was nominated for an award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and in January he snagged a Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in menswear.

With accolades like that under his belt, it remains a mystery as to why he is leaving his brand behind. The English-born designer has acted as a creative consultant to Tommy Hilfiger since 2010, and has previous stints at Yves Saint Laurent and Ralph Lauren. Whatever Spurr has up his sleeve, we're sure we'll find out sooner or later. [WWD]
