White Walls Gallery Prepares For Sickboy's US Debut

Some say Sickboy is on par with Banksy. Will his "Wonder Club" convince us?

Thanks to high praise for his Heaven & Earth exhibition in London, Sickboy has been likened to street art stars Banksy and Ben Eine. Like Banksy, Sickboy hails from Bristol. Unlike the mysterious stencil king, Sickboy's fame has remained relatively confined to the British Isles. His eyes, now, are on America.

Wonder Club, Sickboy's US debut, opens on March 17 at White Walls in San Francisco. He will transform the gallery into a dreamland, focusing viewer attention on the inner workings of the artist's mind. Sickboy continues to work with mixed media ephemera, but will also go a step forward and create collaborative work with photographer Viktor Vauthier (well known in fashion circles) to capture the creative process in motion.

It all sounds grand. But, will it be enough to vault Sickboy to the top of the street art world?

White Walls is located at 835 Larkin Street, San Francisco, CA. The exhibition will be on view through April 7, 2012.
