Surreal, exciting, and intense, Oliver Vernon's paintings are all about colorful, layered components. His latest works, shown under the title of Tilt, feature an explosive use of color and shape (drawn from both natural and supernatural sources). The exhibition, at Denver's always exciting David B. Smith Gallery, opens on February 24, 2012.
Vernon, a native New Yorker, recently moved to California. The relocation is apparent in the complexity of his painted landscapes and current exploration of the natural world.
Tilt will remain on view through March 24, 2012.
