95-year-old socialite, fashion icon, and humanitarian Zelda Kaplan passed away after collapsing at the Joanna Mastroianni show at Lincoln Center today. Witnesses saw her slump forward in her front row seat shortly after models took to the runway. The stylish nightlife legend was often seen at numerous parties, gallery openings, and clubs — even in the late hours of the night, always dressed to the nines and living her life to the limit. That means she was often spotted with numerous VIPs, such as Snoop Dogg.

In addition to her active social life, she regularly took trips to visit Africa in order to speak to tribes about womens' rights, specifically — genital mutilation. These humanitarian visits are reflected in her personal style, which often featured African prints. CMTs on the scene at Lincoln Center attended to Ms. Kaplan with CPR before an ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital, where she later died. [Fashionista]
