Highlighting a growing collection of celebrity portraits, the Portland Museum of Art will host a new exhibition, Making Faces: Photographic Portraits of Actors and Artists, from January 14, 2012. A total of 35 portraits are included, featuring notable artists and television personalities. These images often explore how artists make their art (specifically Pablo Picasso and Fernand Legar). Additionally, Making Faces shares the groundbreaking work of Phillippe Halsman, who captured the expressive Jimmy Durante and Imogene Coca.
The exhibition will be on view through April 8, 2012.
