Gaston-Louis, grandson of Louis Vuitton, had a lust for travel. His globe trotting ways precipitated another love, collecting hotel stickers. When Gaston-Louis died in 1970, he'd amassed over 3,000 stickers, each a tell tale memory of a travelers trips. The collection has been hidden in the LV archives roughly 40 years, and now 30 see light of day again via a limited collection of hotel label postcards. Like the stickers, the graphics displayed on the cards may be adhered to that treasured trunk… meaning original intent of the object is retained even in the new form. The best luxury art gift of 2011. [Wallpaper*]
