New York store owners and city dwellers alike have complained about scaffolding (put up during construction or maintenence of some sort) across some 6,000 buildings in NY, calling them an eye sore and an inconvenience. Well, it seems sleek architecture is the solution to this problem: NYC-based architecture firm Agencie Group recently won the UrbanSHED competition, sponsored by the New York City Department of Buildings, for the Urban Umbrella, a sleek new design that would replace the steel and wood sheds currently scattered throughout the city.
