Born and raised in Utah, the talented Rick Allman draws influence from geography, religion, and the how travel has reshaped his viewpoints on both. As such, his paintings have a powerful mix of landscapes and explosive post-apocalyptic themes. Allman's canvases deftly balance a rich vibrancy with a complex conception of contrasting surfaces and layers of paint. They are, in short, rather engaging.
The paintings will be on view in Denver from December 16, 2011 to January 14, 2012.
