Vast stretches of land in nature exist; we know this. But sometimes, we forget just how sublime these natural occurances are...they're like the Earth's own works of art. These photos of the Great Salt Desert (or "Kavir-e Namak") in Iran, mostly shot from miles above the Earth by NASA, are a perfect example of how seeing the world from above makes you realize you really don't fully grasp its breadth and awesomeness.
