Alexander Korzer-Robinson works in pre-existing media, most notably encyclopedias, to create intense narrative scenes. The artist will often utilize illustrations on the page to enliven his cuttings, making the work one of conversation between himself and the book. The results, as you can see, are awesome.

Book carving, thanks to Atlanta's Brian Dettmer, is fast gaining recognition. Korzer-Robinson is a name you should remember in this fascinating genre. My Modern Met caught him for an interview. Read that here. Click the thumbs for more of his astounding carving.
