Nike has come under scrutiny for its relationship with Penn State's football system after news broke out of the school's child sex abuse scandal. Apparently, former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky, used his influence to cover up sexually abusing young boys. Critics want the sportswear and athletic goods company to change the name of the daycare center at its corporate headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., stating that calling it the “Joe Paterno Child Development Center” is inappropriate. But Nike is refusing to make any changes. They say they will continue to produce various athletic products and licensed goods for the school. “Our relationship with Penn State remains unchanged,” a Nike rep said in a statement. “We are deeply disturbed by the claims brought forth in the indictments. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.” What do you think Nike should do?
