In 1977, in the flick of a shutter, Michael Brennan captured boxer Muhammed Ali in now legendary stance. This photograph forms the keystone for Muhammed Ali: 1977, an exhibition that opens tonight at Design Within Reach in LA and shares a series of Brennan's most fabulous boxing work. Alongside Ali sits stoic portraits of Larry Holmes and candid moments with the late Joe Frazier. Each is (almost) better than the last. Click the thumbs for a preview of the exhibition.

Following the installation at Design Within Reach, Muhammed Ali: 1977 will move to Artworks Gallery in Pasadena, CA. There, the show will run from November 21 to January 17, 2012 (which just so happens to be Ali's 70th birthday).
