Opening on February 2012, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta will host the largest exhibition of work by KAWS to date.
A majority of the pieces in the exhibition will be never-before-seen works. The new paintings follow KAWS' homage to popular culture, including cartoons like Sponge Bob Square Pants and The Smurfs. Included are 27 tondo paintings, two large paintings, and a series of drawings.
During the first week of the exhibition, visitors will the chance to watch KAWS paint a mural High in the museum’s main lobby. AWESOME!
“KAWS: Down Time” will be on view in Atlanta from February 18 to May 27, 2012.
