Architect Jeremy Barbour is responsible for Australian brand Aesop's first standalone store in New York. Using reclaimed copies of the New York Times as building material, Barbour both acknowledges a respect for the written word and the history of the city. Additionally, the walls of the store pay homage to the brand's love of cinema by screening Criterion films.

Aesop was founded in 1987. The Mebourne-based cosmetics brand will expand to a total of four NYC stores by the end of 2011.

In addition to a cool store, Aesop has launched a 30-day guide to New York City with 30 key city dwellers sharing their favorite galleries, retailers, and neighborhoods. Participants include photographer Tim Barber and artist Pamela Love.

Aesop Nolita is located at 232 Elizabeth Street, New York, NY.
