Architects Elise Morin and Clemence Eliard have taken thousands of dead CDs and transformed them into an undulating carpet inside a former Parisian funeral home. The project, "WasteLand", employs 65,000 CDs in total. These were woven together and then placed over several inflatable mounds, ultimately covering an area of 500 square meters. The result is mesmerizing.

The installation will run in Pars, at CENTQUATRE, through September 10, 2011, before touring new locations. [Dezeen]
