On Sunday night The Standard New York played host to a special preview of Wolverine's Spring/Summer 2012 products for their 1000 Mile and No. 1883 Collections.

Born in Rockford, Michigan, the two collections reflect different sides of Wolverine's heritage.

The sturdy, USA-made 1000 Mile Collection is comprised of hardy boots that pay homage to their original model—the 1000 Mile Boot, which gets reimagined in tan leather this season, perfectly complementing the already available black and brown. We also thought the Addison Two-Tone Boot was pretty ill because of its slight wingtip style and lack of broguing, giving the shoe a bit of elegance without taking away any edge.

Wolverine's No. 1883 Collection is a bit more fashion-forward, reflecting the year the company was founded and taking it in a new direction. From this line you can expect smart chukkas, versatile oxfords, and for Spring/Summer 2012—boat shoes done Wolverine-style and hiking boots lined with engineer-stripe denim, which you can think of as seersucker's tough older brother.

Look for both collections to drop early next year.
