Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean introduces us to new brand Batten Sportswear in a recent post. 40-year-old designer Shinya Hasegawa was schooled in New York before honing his craft at What Goes Around Comes Around and at Woolrich Woolen Mills with the talented Daiki Suzuki.

His latest venture, the all USA-made Batten Sportswear, takes inspirations from vintage outdoor gear and mixes it with West Coast surf culture. The resulting collection consists of dope floral prints on both shirts and shorts, bright colored boardshorts, bags, and an awesome-looking shell parka that could give Patagonia a run for its money.

We definitely hope that this is one brand that takes off, and we're stoked to see where Hasegawa takes it from here.
