After hearing the news last week that SNL’s Bill Hadar would be the next to don the white wig for a role as Andy Warhol in Men In Black 3, we got to reminiscing about the actors who have played Warhol on the silver screen, and Bill has plenty of competition. I Shot Andy Warhol


This indie film from 1996 is about the life of Valerie Solanas, the woman who tried to kill Warhol in 1968. Jared Harris also played John Lennon in a made for TV movie called Two of Us. John Lennon was also shot. Coincidence? Probably.

Guy Pearce

Factory Girl


Edie Sedgwick was Warhol’s muse. For this 2006 biopic about her life, Pearce is surprisingly convincing as the neurotic, manipulative artist.

David Bowie

Basquiat

Another biopic about one of Warhol’s loves, this one his dear friend and fellow artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, made by the artist Julian Schnabel. Bowie, also an eccentric and a genius, had no problem exploring those territories for the part.
