José Parlá opens his new exhibit Walls, Diaries & Paintings, tonight in New York City at the Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery. The collection is an evolution of the New York-based, Miami-born, Cuban artist's work, and his new series of paintings closely resemble the walls that have shaped Parla's life. Like his work before, this exhibit is a must see, and copies of his new monograph of the same title will be for sale at the show. The opening is tonight from 6-9 at Bryce Wolkowitz, located at 505 W 24th Street, New York City, and runs through April 16th. Go to this show, but before you do, click on for a preview of the work on display and an interview with Parlá where he breaks down his process, inspiration, and some of the key elements of each work.
