VOTE: Who Should Buy J.Crew? Urban Outfitters or Sears?

VOTE: Who Should Buy J.Crew? Urban Outfitters or Sears?

J.Crew recently announced it's selling its shares and looking for a new owner. Word on the street is both Sears and Urban Outfitters are interested in acquiring the brand. J.Crew's been straight up KILLING IT for the last couple of years and we hope nothing too drastic changes under new ownership. Will Sears make J.Crew less shiny? Will Urban Outfitters turn it too young? What do you think? Vote after the jump and leave comments! It won't sway the decision whatsoever (siiiiigh) but we'll be sure to share our results tomorrow.

Is Urban Outfitters cool enough to keep J.Crew growing in the right direction? Will Sears' gigantic market share and super mainstream aesthetic mess with the mix or build something beautiful? [via]

I really hope another buyer would be an option. The J.Crew name has stood for quality for quite some time.

urban outfitters, inc. is much more than just the store urban outfitters. 'making it too young' would not be a real concern at all as uo inc also owns anthroplogie.

No uo and j.crew do not mix That's two different styles of clothing younger vs older crowd I say and sears and j.crew both appeal to the older crowd

J.Crew has already agreed to be sold to TPG and Leonard Green, I doubt either company will top the $3billion bid, certainly not with the $300mil take the CEO will get if it does go through.
