A century ago, the first international air-racing events were held in Los Angeles and Belmont Park, New York. A hundred years later—this morning to be exact—NYC prepares for the 2010 Red Bull Air Race Championship. Todays launch took tourists away from their usual breakfasts at Bubba Gump Shrimp as all cameras were focused on the champions of the sky and the Channel Through Aviation Interactive Experience. Sidenote: Red Bull may give you wings, but airplanes in Times Square definitely gives you heightened security. [Red Bull Air Race]
