For the first time in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to the Super Bowl. When they make their trek to Miami, Patrick Mahomes and his squad will square off against Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers in what is expected to be a tightly contested matchup.

The Chiefs plowed through their conference en route to a decisive win against the Tennessee Titans in the AFC title game. As expected, the Titans were able to slow down the game with the run, but the weapons on Kansas City's side were too much for Tennessee to handle. Now, the Chiefs are in the position to win coach Andy Reid his first Super Bowl ring.

Meanwhile in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers launched a bit of a comeback, but the 49ers won the NFC championship by a score of 37-20. Though it robbed fans of a chance to see Mahomes face off against Aaron Rodgers, the mere thought of watching two young quarterbacks battle for NFL supremacy is juicy as hell.

Here's how fans and players are reacting to the Chiefs and Niners' respective victories, and the epic matchup that's set to unfold in Miami in two weeks.

I doubt when Terrell Suggs headed to Arizona at the start of the season he’d be heading to the Super Bowl as a member of the Chiefs pic.twitter.com/WGC2wFOmSc

49ers now join the 1988 Bengals and 1999 Rams as the third team to reach the Super Bowl after winning four or fewer games the previous season.

The 49ers are headed back to the Super Bowl. It’ll be at the site of their last championship victory, Miami — where they won exactly 25 years ago.

Andy Reid ended a 24-year Super Bowl drought in Philadelphia and a 50-year drought in Kansas City.

1 win away from a gold jacket.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AND THEIR FANS. I knew Lamar Hunt well. Fan of his son. Class organization coached by a class coach. Happy for my network that Patrick Mahomes is in the Super Bowl we will televise.

Why even bother playing Super Bowl LIV? The 49ers already beat the Chiefs 27-17 in Week 3 of the preseason.

George Kittle really came out to his postgame presser in a t-shirt with a shirtless Jimmy G 🤣

didn't think it was possible to ask so little of your quarterback and make the super bowl in 2020. it's truly amazing to consider.
