In the early morning hours of Saturday, four Jacksonville Jaguars players were reportedly arrested after an alleged incident at a local London nightclub.

According to The Sun, safeties, Barry Church, Ronnie Harrison, Jarrod Wilson, and cornerback D.J. Hayden — who are in London for their game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Wembley — were accused of trying to skip-out on a massive bar tab that they reportedly tallied up at the London Reign Showclub. This led to a dispute between the players and the club's bouncers that resulted in the arrest of the four Jags.

"The total bill was in the region of £50,000 and some of the lads tried to leave the club but were prevented from doing so by security [...] Things got pretty heated and there was a lot of swearing and shouting and things became physical," a source told the publication.

After nearly nine hours in custody, things look to have been resolved as the players were released and the complaint filed against them was dropped by the nightclub after the bill was settled.

"We are aware that four of our players were detained over restitution of a bill," a statement from the Jaguars' explained, per NFL.com. "The matter is being resolved and the players are with the team."

Many feel that the incident was merely a misunderstanding, a notion that was solidified by the London Metropolitan Police's description of the event.

"Officers attended and spoke with a group of males who had allegedly been attempting to leave the venue without paying a large bill," the police spokesperson said, perBBC. "Four men aged in their twenties were subsequently arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation and taken to a central London police station for questioning [...] They were all subsequently released with no further action."
