Why Did TNT's Kevin Harlan Keep Referring to Derrick Rose as "Reggie Rose"?

Derrick Rose got a new name Monday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose has looked rejuvenated in the NBA Playoffs. Though his team is now down 3-1 after dropping Monday's game 119-100 to Houston (the Rockets won the third quarter by 30!), Rose has played well.

For the series, Rose is averaging 14.8 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game. On Monday, however, play-by-play man Kevin Harlan seemed to forget Rose's first name.

Harlan repeatedly said "Reggie Rose." It was unclear whether he was actually addressing his color commentary partner, Reggie Miller, or whether he genuinely forgot Rose's first name is Derrick.

No Reggie Rose is his brother. Still was funny to hear it that way pic.twitter.com/TemUWHxFpI
Kevin Harlan keeps saying “Reggie, Rose” and it sounds like he’s saying “Reggie Rose"
Who the hell is Reggie Rose? Y'all got my dad calling this game?
Kevin Harlen saying Reggie Rose 10 times in 1 quarter is the best thing that’s happened in the playoffs so far
He wasn't calling people Reggie. He was teeing up Reggie Miller and then talking about Derrick Rose (Reggie, Rose has been terrific in this series) Notice in the videotapes in question how he says Reggie in a higher register than lowers it when he talks about Rose.
They've called Derrick Rose "Reggie Rose" at least three (3) times on the broadcast so far.
If Kevin Harlan calls Derrick Rose Reggie Rose one more time...

Adding to the confusion: Derrick Rose's brother is named Reggie.

Miller made his own error in the third quarter, as he referred to Wolves guard Ricky Rubio as "Marco Rubio."

Houston can close out the series in Game Five, which is slated for Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. EST on TNT. We're betting TNT has already given Harlan a heads up to avoid any "Reggie Rose" references.
