New Billboard Challenges LeBron to Prove He's the King of New York By Signing With the Knicks

A marketing company in NY dares LeBron James to sign with the Knicks.

A New York marketing company has taken LeBron's James' recruitment into their own hands by daring the four-time MVP to prove he's the "King of New York" by signing with the Knicks this summer. The sign was put up between 31st and 32nd streets on 7th Avenue, which is to say it faces the entrance of Madison Square Garden. So, yeah, that'll probably do it.

In fairness, the company did admit that the likelihood of LeBron joining the team was extraordinarily slim but, whatever, worst case scenario is it still brings attention to your business.

"Some of you may think we’re crazy and say there’s no chance he ends up in NY. I think why not ?," they wrote on Instagram. "If you talk the talk you gotta walk the walk. You want to be considered the goat? Legend? Icon? I think the best way to solidify all that is winning a chip in NY a place that hasn’t seen it in 40 years the Mecca of basketball (Lebron's words) So I say you call yourself the King? PROVE IT this is the best place to do it."

For the uninitiated, the message is referencing a moment last November when LeBron declared himself the Big Apple's king after a comeback victory over the Knicks.

The billboard is just the latest one to try to woo LeBron into signing a contract this offseason as, previously, signs went up in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Akron. What we're saying is, more creativity would be appreciated. Dig deep.
