In February, boxer Adrien Broner was arrested at the Lenox Square shopping center in Georgia for allegedly touching a woman’s genitals without her consent. The contentious boxer—who raps in his spare time—is now dealing with the legal aftermath of his actions at the Georgia mall. According to TMZ, plaintiff Kaila Crews is now officially suing the Broner for sexual battery—the charge he was arrested for back in February.
TMZ reports Crews has been emotionally distressed ever since the incident, and demands the boxer pays for his actions which caused her pain, suffering, and unspecified injuries. Whether or not Broner actually injured the woman is of no concern, here, as having someone invade your private space and groping your genitals is already bad enough (not to mention, illegal) to warrant some financial retribution in addition to the legal charges being brought about.
“At no point had Plaintiff given [Broner] permission to touch any part of her body,” Crews’ lawsuit claims. According to the suit, Broner “swiped his hand across [her] private parts,” which immediately resulted in the boxer being cuffed by cops and arrested for misdemeanor sexual battery—a criminal case for which investigators are reportedly still collecting evidence.
Regarding Broner’s career, the man has a fight scheduled for April 21st. As it stands, Broner will reportedly be facing off against Jessie Vargas at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This story is still very much developing, so stay tuned for any potential updates.
