Sixers Fans Are Concerned About an Injured Joel Embiid Returning for First Round of Playoffs

The announcement that Joel Embiid will miss two to four weeks after undergoing facial surgery has 76ers fans thinking about the likelihood that he will be available for the playoffs in two weeks.

Things were going so well for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers were on an eight-game winning streak, and at 44-30, they were breathing down the neck of the third-place Cleveland Cavaliers, who were clinging to a half-game lead. Then, Joel Embiidcollided with Markelle Fultz’s shoulder and suffered an orbital fracture.

Embiid will undergo facial surgery, and according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, he could return in two to four weeks.

While the 76ers don’t run the risk of missing the playoffs, which are only two weeks away. But there is a decent possibility that the team could be without The Process in the first round, and depending on which opponent that turns out to be, his absence could be huge. Of course, you don’t need to tell that to Sixers and Embiid fans alike who are already going through the motions since the news was made official.

We're rooting for an Embiid return for the first round because we want the joy that comes with him in a facemask as much as the next person.
