Here's a random fact: law schools have proms. What do you know? Another fact: Steven Adams has agreed to go to one—sort of.

The Thunder big man on Tuesday agreed to accompany a fan to her law school's formal event... three years after she asked him to do it. Here's the original tweet from the fan, posted in Jan. 2015:

Hey @RealStevenAdams if I get 1,000 retweets will you go to my law school's prom with me?! #FunakiProm pic.twitter.com/0UTKmsAnsQ

And Adams' belated response, posted early Monday evening:

Absolutely

It's unclear why Adams responded so late—did he just randomly remember the tweet? Did someone just draw his attention to it? He's pretty active on Twitter, so it's not like he had just logged in for the first time in three years.

Adams is certainly aware of the weird timing. He retweeted an ESPN post that called attention to the lateness of his response to the fan.

One Twitter user asked an obvious question: is this still even a possibility?

Real question is are you still in Law School?!

Apparently the fan is out of law school, but she's still hoping to take Adams to some sort of formal event—like a wedding.

Or maybe he will just be my date to your wedding?

She also went on TMZ to talk about the viral moment:

We're pulling for the fan. Do it, Steven.

The 24-year-old 7-footer is averaging 13.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for Oklahoma City, which currently has the fifth-best record in the West.
