Radio Host Fired for Sexual Remarks About 17-Year-Old Olympian Chloe Kim

Patriarchy never fails to disappoint.

Olympians may go by many names: athletes, champions, gods and goddesses among men, but not a “little hot piece of ass.” However, the former is exactly what Patrick Connor of Barstool Sports called Olympic gold medal snowboarder Chloe Kim on his show on SiriusXM. In the wake of his comments, Connor has now lost his Bay Area morning show, The Shower Hour with Patrick Connor. (Don’t even get me started on that title.)

No reason was given as to why Connor was fired. “Just quickly I want to apologize to Chloe Kim and her dad,” Connor said in a recorded statement on Barstool, where he is still very much employed. “They didn’t deserve my stupid, foolish, and immature comments.” Connor also tweeted an apology, writing, "Yesterday, in a weird attempt to make people laugh, I failed. My comments about @chloekimsnow were more than inappropriate, they were lame & gross. I'm truly sorry Chloe. You've repped our country so brilliantly. I apologize to my colleagues & the listeners for being a total idiot." Welp, at least he apologized. Wish we could say the same for the President of the United States, but I digress.

However, it looks like Barstool needs to clean up their act in general. Co-host of the Dialed-In show on SiriusXM, Dallas Braden, reprimanded Connor and assured audiences that Barstool understands the “severity and the seriousness of the comments made...and that’s not who we are.” Meanwhile, as USA Today notes, the clip of Braden is featured on Barstool’s website right now, right below an advertisement featuring two underwear-clad women. Smells like patriarchy to me, folks.
