The Wednesday game between the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans has been postponed due to a leaky roof in Smoothie King Center arena.

Rain water began falling onto the court just before the start of the game. As an attempted remedy, the arena installed a catch basin to keep the water off the court.

"We don't know what the cause is," the arena's general manager Allan Freeman told Nola.com earlier in the evening. "This didn't reveal itself until players left the court from early shoot around. It's not really possible for us to repair the roof tonight. What we're trying to do right now is create a catch basin that can contain the leak."

Arena staff spent time mopping up residual water.

Twitter quickly began buzzing with talk of the situation, with some providing jokes.

Hey, life happens.
