Cardi B Will Never Perform at the Super Bowl Unless the NFL Re-Hires Colin Kaepernick

Cardi B says the only way she'd agree to ever be part of a Super Bowl hafltime show is if the NFL gives Colin Kaepernick his job back.

Cardi B may appear wild, funny, and carefree based on her social media-bolstered fame, but she's also ready to take a stance when it comes to social injustice.

TMZ caught up with the "Bodak Yellow" rapper as she arrived for her scheduled performance at Maxim's pre-Super Bowl Bash in Minneapolis. The camera man was only able to chat it up with her for a few seconds as she and her team rushed inside to escape the frigid cold, but it was enough to capture a gem. When asked if the world will ever see her hit the Super Bowl halftime stage, Cardi responded, "When they hire Colin Kaepernick back."

The Bronx-born rapper has been outwardly supporting the former NFL player and activist for some time now. She famously gave him a shout out at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. “Colin Kaepernick, as long as you kneel with us, we’re gonna be standing for you, baby," she said just before announcing Demi Lovato's performance. Colin followed up with a thank you to Cardi for her support.

Kaepernick remains unsigned to any NFL team following his decision to kneel during the national anthem and subsequent departure from the San Francisco 49ers. Hours ahead of tonight's Super Bowl, thousands of his supporters have been tweeting using the hashtag #ImWithKap to show solidarity with the former quarterback while putting pressure on the NFL.
