Following the team's original plans to sign free agent Jamil Wilson to a 10-day contract, the Los Angeles Lakers have pulled back on the deal following accusations made against Wilson that he purposely spread an STD.

An ex-girlfriend of Wilson has filed a lawsuit saying she contracted herpes from him and that he never warned her he had the disease. According to a report by TMZ, the lawsuit was filed in L.A. County Superior Court. The woman claims she began dating Wilson back in November 2016 and contracted herpes in June 2017. She is officially suing Wilson for sexual battery, fraud, and seeking damages for emotional distress.

"Jamil has been irreparably harmed by the recent accusation, which has now resulted in damage to his NBA career," Wilson's agent Steve McCaskill told ESPN. "We will not tolerate these false accusations, but will pursue all legal remedies with the full force of the law."

If the original deal remained in place, the forward could have been suiting up in Lakers purple and gold as early as this week. The 27-year old Wilson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Phoenix Suns back in September 2014 before being abruptly released just weeks later. In his latest playing stint with the Los Angeles Clippers this season, Wilson played in 15 games averaging 7.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game before being waived by the team on Jan. 5.
