The Warriors and Cavaliers played for the second time so far this season on Monday night, and once again, Golden State was victorious. After beating Cleveland 99-92 at home back on Christmas Day, Kevin Durant & Co. knocked off the reigning Eastern Conference champions 118-108 in Cleveland to continue their dominance over the team they’ve faced in the NBA Finals three years in a row.
During the game, Steph Curry threw down a rare two-handed dunk that caught everyone’s attention. Curry later said the dunk was "like a unicorn sighting."
Durant was one of the many Warriors players who gave him grief about it.
But when KD was asked by reporters if the dunk was his favorite play of the game, he said it wasn’t. Instead, KD highlighted a key three-pointer he made towards the end of the fourth quarter as his play of the game. But it wasn’t the play itself that got him so hyped. It was the trash talking he did with Migos after the shot went in that he enjoyed so much.
"I think the three at the end," KD said. "I threw out a little Migos lyric after I hit that one. They appreciated that. That was probably my favorite part of the game."
Unfortunately, KD wouldn’t say which Migos lyric he used.
But you have to imagine he was waiting all game long for the right opportunity to pull it out, and it didn’t go unnoticed by those who were watching the game at home.
That was far from the only big Migos moment during the game. Migos also did a live in-game interview that featured Quavo sharing a new nickname he has given to himself.
As for the Warriors and Cavaliers, they won’t play again during the regular season. If they were to play again this season, it wouldn’t be until the 2018 NBA Finals.
