Who knew the Denver Nuggets had a few A+ pranksters on their team?
Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets' equipment manager Sparky Gonzales recently had an, um, interesting interaction. After Thursday night's game against the New York Knicks, Gonzales filled Jokić's locker with four different kinds of women's deodorants. Why, you may ask? In jest, Jokić complained that the deodorant supplied to him by the equipment manager resembled mosquito repellent in both scent and appearance. In response, Gonzales snuck in four kinds of women's Dove deodorant. The joke may have backfired, however, as Jokić put some of the deodorant on and said it smelled nice. The Denver Post reported that he may not be using these at home, but he did stop a few minutes into a media session to sniff his pit.
In response to this little perfumey charade, many Reddit users stood with Jokić and have encouraged other men to "make the switch," as Reddit user FluggaDaBugga said, adding, "I've been using the cucumber one for a year now and get compliments regularly from girlfriends. It's on another level compared to men's deo." User Steempie said, "Can confirm, smells great and sold at Costco. Both me and my girl use it." There is even a very elaborate step by step guide on how to prevent pit sweat. Jokić may have just revolutionized the world of antiperspirants.
Maybe the flowery deodorant gave Jokić some luck: he had his second triple-double during Saturday's defeat against the Dallas Mavericks. According to the Denver Post, coach Michael Malone said, “We’ve seen him make that (shot) a ton and obviously, it was a big one tonight for him to make that shot.” With three Denver victories in a row, Jokić has scored 16 points and achieved 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
