Spurs coach Gregg Popovich spends a lot of his time and money helping those who are less fortunate in the San Antonio area. He has made donations to organizations like the San Antonio Food Bank and Shoes That Fit, and according to ESPN, he also made a "substantial" donation to hurricane relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria earlier this year.

Prior to the Spurs game against the Nets on Tuesday night, Popovich was asked why giving back to the community is so important to him—and he provided reporters with a pretty amazing answer. Popovich, who has been very vocal with regards to different social issues throughout 2017, said he feels it’s his obligation to give help to those who need it.

"Because we’re all rich as hell, and we don’t need it all, and other people need it," Popovich said. "Then, you’re an ass if you don’t give it. Pretty simple."

Popovich’s "pretty simple" take on charity has gotten a great response from NBA fans and deservedly so. Some are even calling for Pop to run for President.

But no one should be surprised when Popovich says these things anymore. He has proven himself to be one of the most socially aware people in the entire NBA, and while his words on charity are important, it’s the actions behind them that should be celebrated even more than what he had to say.
