Adrien Broner is back in the booth. The controversial boxer and occasional rapper released a freestyle over the beat for Tay K's viral track "The Race," a song about being on the run from the law. Tay K, who is 17-years-old, is facing capital murder charges stemming from a 2016 home invasion case. He will be tried as an adult.
In September, a video that appears to show the 28-year-old Broner getting into an altercation while in Las Vegas surfaced. The video shows what looks to be Broner knocking a man out and pushing a woman after getting into an argument. He has since been charged with battery. In late November, TMZ reported that Broner failed to appear in court, though the boxer said that it was all a "misunderstanding." A warrant was then issued.
It seems that Broner, like Tay K, is turning to music to talk about his legal problems. "Fuck Nevada, I ain't going to that state/ With this warrant still riding with the K/ Even though they say they caught it on the tape," Broner raps on "The Race Freestyle."
Not too long back, Broner took to Instagram to tease the drop of a mixtape called Wanted, in reference to the Nevada case.
This isn't the first time Broner has had problems with the law. The former four-weight world champion boxer has previously had a warrant for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He also had charges of domestic violence, robbery, and intimidating a witness. The last three charges have since been dismissed.
Last year Broner dropped the Floyd Mayweather diss track "Slammer," which used the beat for Desiigner's hit song "Panda."
